As of 1 July 2026, Room VPN affirms that:

• We have never received a National Security Letter or secret gag order.
• We have never been compelled to hand over encryption keys.
• We have never been required to log user activity or modify our systems to enable surveillance.
• We have never been served a subpoena we could satisfy, because we hold no activity logs.

How to read this

Be careful how much weight you put on this page. It is part of the site, redeployed whenever the site is, so it cannot go stale on its own the way a canary is supposed to — its date is the date it was last edited by hand. Treat it as a statement we are willing to publish, not as evidence produced by a process.

Verification

There is no signature to check. A signed canary needs a key held outside this site and a publication schedule that stops when nobody signs; we do not run one, and claiming otherwise would be the exact failure a canary exists to prevent.
