Trust

A true no-logs policy.

No activity logs means nothing is recorded about what you do online. It does not mean no records at all, and the difference is the whole page.

No activity logs

Room VPN does not record what you do online. There is no field anywhere in the system for a destination, a hostname or a DNS query — not on a session, not on a relay, not in the database. There is no browsing history to subpoena, leak or sell, because none is ever written.

What is never recorded

  • The sites, servers or addresses you connect to
  • DNS queries
  • Anything about the contents of your traffic

What is recorded, and why

A session record is kept for each connection, and you can read your own on the dashboard. It holds the address you connected from, which of our services it was — the VPN, a proxy or Smart DNS — the identifier your app generates for that device along with its name and app version, when the session started and ended and why, which relays carried it, and how many bytes moved.

This is what makes the device limit, your usage figures and “was that login me?” possible. We would rather list it than describe ourselves as storing nothing while showing you the opposite one click into your account.

Not audited by a third party

No outside firm has reviewed this policy or the systems behind it. Until one has, saying otherwise would be exactly the kind of claim this page exists to make unnecessary — and a review nobody performed is worth less than an accurate list of what is kept.
